Microsoft’s latest version of Internet Explorer (IE) is a hit but Google’s Chrome has been steadily gaining ground on the Web browsing software, according to industry figures .

Chrome’s share of the browser market rose from 1.62 percent in March of last year to 5.22 percent last month, according to Net Application trend data.

During the same period, Internet Explorer’s piece of the Web browser market dropped from 68.46 percent to 62.12 percent, Net Application reported. Read more

erors in w7Microsoft on (december 02.2009 )denied a claim that its November security patch of Windows 7 is among the possible causes of the black screen problems affecting some Windows users.

On Friday, Prevx, a maker of antivirus software, which is based in the U.K., attributed some of these black screen crashes to the Microsoft’s new operating system change that locked down Windows registry keys.

But Microsoft insisted that’s just wrong.

windows72 70x70 Windows 7 pirate version.Software vendors in Beijing are already selling pirated versions of the Windows 7 operating system after its official China release on Oct 23.

Roughly 30 percent of the 20 vendors METRO interviewed yesterday at Hailong Plaza, the largest market selling electronic products in Zhongguancun, offered a pirated version of Windows 7.

Piracy software vendors have kept a low profile when selling the pirated operating system due to a tough government attitude and Microsoft’s aggressive marketing campaigns.

“I am taking a high risk to sell the pirated version. The government has launched a very harsh campaign recently. We will be fined over 10,000 yuan and probably also sent to prison if they catch us,” a woman surname Zhao, who works for a video store in Hailong, told METRO.pirate windows 7

The demand for Vista, launched in the beginning of 2007, leaves much to be desired. Vista set a high bar for the computer performance required to run the operating system, which caused many problems from the onset. Even consumers who know little about computers developed certain apprehension towards laptops with pre-installed Vista. Only a few people cared about the fact that modern computers had enough capacity to run Vista. Therefore, the number one issue at the moment is the ability of Windows 7 to rehabilitate new Microsoft OS in the eyes of the users. Windows 7 was designed to become an advanced version of the more successful Windows XP.
