An Icelandic volcano neighbouring Eyjafjoell, whose eruptions paralysed Europe’s skies last month, could come to life in the near future, according to experts.

“An eruption in the short term is a strong possibility,” experts said, referring to Katla, which is larger and fiercer than Eyjafjoell, in a report from the University College London (UCL) institute for risk and disaster reduction.

The researchers also cautioned that Europe’s skies were likely to be hit by further ash cloud shutdowns, following April’s widespread closures and several smaller scale shutdowns since. Read more

As over 6,000 bikers of the European Chapter of Harley Davidson ride into Greece and the record books.

They smashed a previous record on a suspended bridge by parading over the 2,880 metre Rio Antirrio.

Police closed the bridge for the riders as people gathered to watch. Some bikers even went all out donning symbols of freedom and rebellion.

The annual “Super Rally” is held in a different European city each year.

This year bikers from across Europe gathered in Patras to show off their bikes, leather and tattoos.

(SOUNDBITE)(English) GERMAN HARLEY DAVIDSON BIKER SAYING:

“We drove about 1,900 kilometres. We are Germany, Austria, Italy, and the first days there was a little bit bad weather but now its fantastic. I like it.”

So: bikers showed off their custom rides; Another year and another chance to be ‘Wild Hogs’ and ‘Easy Riders’.

UFO in Moscow skies

Recently a video was posted online showing a huge triangle 1.5 km wide soaring above the Moscow Kremlin. It was sitting above Red Square and shot by amateurs twice.

The video was widely discussed in foreign communities interested in ufology.
According to a former UFO analyst of the British Defense Ministry, this is the most bizarre and unusual video of a UFO he has ever seen.

On October 7, 2009 a strange round cloud resembling a saucer was shot above Moscow Ring Road. At first it was noticed above Leninsky Prospect metro station, which is in downtown Moscow. Read more

Who is your’s soccer (fans photo)

I used to enjoy soccer. I used to enjoy playing it, I used to enjoy speaking about it. Nothing felt better than sending the ball screaming into the top corner of the goal from 30 yards out, nothing more cosy than the get-together after the match with the rest of the team.

However, as this mix of testosterone and adrenalin has moved off the playing field and onto the TV screen, the game has transformed from a sport into a sinister control mechanism, the true Opium of the People,
keeping the masses stupefied with a carefully controlled fix which starts with the studied idiocy of the players themselves, the inanity of the team coaches, and ends with the TV companies that make billions out of pay-per-view,
the agents who buy and sell players as if they were engaging in drugs trafficking and the Presidents of the clubs themselves,
many of whom look and act like mafia men, faceless anonymities who suddenly got mega-rich quickly.

I shall therefore not be watching one minute of this Summer’s World Cup in South Africa and the only desire I have is that the FIFA 2010 is won by an African team.
I shall be spending my time worrying about and studying more serious things, such as how an American rating agency can control the lives of Europeans, dictating whether or not they receive their pensions and how Europe has managed to get its foreign policy run by NATO.

I shall be studying public finances so as to find tangible arguments when Governments shrug off their responsibilities saying “Yes, but how do you pay for it?” an expression of the purest cynicism after trillions suddenly become available if we are speaking about bailing out banks.

And what will I be missing? Ridiculous cliche’s iterated by the players themselves (in between blowing their nose in their hands and wiping it on their hair, hawking and spitting) “You know, I will work hard to make my contribution to the team and hope to win because winning is important in football but at the end of the day some you lose and well, you know, that’s football!” Er, I beg your pardon? Did that disgusting creature actually say anything?

I shall be missing the nonsensical utterances of the team coaches, ex- or failed players who have reached Godlike status with expressions such as “I don’t like Italian football”, “You cannot make omelettes without eggs”, or “The Champions League final is the most important game in the world”. Or better, “I am a football person”.

I shall be missing the bungs won by the Presidents of the clubs as the agents eye up the players like some sort of a cattle market and make their ten or twenty per cent on the deal. I shall not miss watching twenty-two young men running after a ball, kicking each other, trying to destroy their careers, spitting, swearing and squaring up to the referee.

I shall not miss being financially raped by my Cable TV provider which immediately makes the PPV Sports channel available after one telephone call but which will take six months to turn it off (during which time I will be paying), a provider which sells me a package of channels to watch and then blocks the ones that show games for free during the World Cup. As everyone knows these days, it is easy to watch the World Cup for free on the Internet. Are they going to block that as well?

I shall not miss seeing incompetent and protected referees professionally not seeing a penalty or a foul, I shall not miss seeing the “professional foul”, a deliberate offence against a player to turn a game, described by some as “a good foul”. It is tantamount to cheating deliberately.

I shall not miss seeing the histrionics of the jewellery-clad belladonnas, writhing around on the sputum-infested pitch, losing a diamond ear-ring and revealing a left arm blue with tattoos and a right arm festooned with the words “Mum” “Dad” and “Shelley”.

“Shelley” is no doubt one of the WAGs, Wives and Girlfriends, who make a living out of draping themselves over someone’s arm, calling themselves “Shaggie’s girlfriend” (some pet name for one o’ the lads), who follow the team around opening their legs and closing their mouths, hopefully, except to scream at each other in the most spectacular catfights. These I shall miss.

European currency is plummeting

world crisis 01 422x280 European currency is plummeting The euro hit the lowest level vs. the dollar since April 2006. Official statements from European politicians and bankers do not seem to be helpful at all. It seems that large international profiteers like George Soros are playing against the euro, experts cautiously say.

The US dollar and the Russian ruble will most likely continue their growth against the euro in the nearest future.

On May 17th the euro was traded on the level of a bit more than $1.2, which marked a record low in four years. The euro dropped against the Japanese yen and the Swiss frank too. The decline continues against the verbal support which the euro received from the head of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet.

Europe’s cheaf banker gave an interview to Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine in which he told of possible measures to rescue the euro.

“There is a need for a quantum leap in the governance of the euro area,” he said. “There need to be major improvements to prevent bad behaviour, to ensure effective implementation of the recommendations made by peers and ensure real and effective sanctions in the case of breaches.”

The official promised to restrain the devaluation of the euro and added that the violators of currency discipline like Greece and Spain must be punished more severely.

Joke euro :

The markets ignored Trichet’s statements. International investors doubt that Europe will be able to extricate from the crisis soon, Roman Kalinin of RosEuroBank believes.

It is an open secret that such a negative situation on the currency market can bring a lot of profit to profiteers such as George Soros, who made the rate of the British pound collapse in 1992 and now continues to speak about the artificiality of the European Union in general.

Potential members of the eurozone only add more fuel to the fire with their concerns. Moreover, Read more

The measures of fighting drunkenness in USSR

At first, people were not too afraid. They first thought it will be the usual way – they will slightly raise the price for vodka and conduct some meetings. Yet, the issue took a serious turn and as early as in 1985 the production of vodka was reduced twofold and the number of liquor stores decreased five-fold.

There were good reasons for such decisive actions. In 1984, the average annual consumption of alcohol per person in Russia was approximately 15 liters, and in 20 regions it fluctuated near the mark of 30 liters of pure spirit. Read more

SONY NEX 3 491x280 Digital technics Sony NEX(video)Sony’s NEX-3 and NEX-5 are all well and good, but with high definition recording topping out at 1080/60i there’s a distinct lack of 1080p HD goodness in the range. According to EOSHD’s sources – previously accurate in their NEX predictions – that’ll be taken care of with the Sony NEX-7 later in the year. That camera will use an APS-C chip, though a different one to what’s found in the NEX-3/5, capable of 1080p@60, 1080p@24 and 720p@120/60 for super slow-motion. Read more
